The Herd Within: Central California Women’s Facility
Rebels Farm recently provided equine therapy for Central California Women’s Facility (CCWF) staff and the incarcerated population.
On Feb. 27, Rebels Farm Equine Therapy staff brought three horses to a grassed area for CCWF staff to enjoy. Facility staff were able to meet the horses on the patio/grassed area of visiting.
Then, on Feb. 28-29, Rebels Farm returned and provided equine therapy to the incarcerated individuals in the mental health programs.
Staff and the population were appreciative of the calming effect and therapeutic way Rebels Farm offered equine therapy.

Rebels Farm’s representatives, professionally trained in providing equine therapy, demonstrated how these beautiful creatures can help in the healing process. Program participants learned skills to help them heal while interacting with horses in therapy activities.
